Volunteer Teachers
We all want to contribute to our society, help our people, in little ways that we can. But working in big cities and isolated air-conditioned offices, cut off from much of the world, doesn’t make it easy. Research shows that millions of children around the world are deprived of good education every year. Educated people, although willing to help, are unable to, as traveling to far away villages to teach or to facilitate education is an impractical and also an unattractive option.

Our service gives you the opportunity to help those in need, get credit for your contribution to the community, and not even leave your home or office for it. You get the opportunity teach children, interact with a large section of the educated community, and participate in deciding, fine-tuning the curriculum and the teaching methods for everyone.

This is how it works:

  • You create a profile (with availability, time zone, and other details) and specify specialization (grade, subject, medium, etc.).
  • You can offer to teach an available school & class, or a school in need of a teacher will select you.
  • Classes are scheduled based on the exchange between you and the school.
  • You can browse through our digital content library to select material to use for the classes.
  • Using our virtual classroom service, classes take place on schedule, and allow extensive real-time interaction between you and the students.
Once you join us, you will go through a selection process. Here is a brief outline of the various stages involved in this process:
  • We select volunteers carefully, after a thorough check into your credentials. We then train you for the teaching program. This course, put together by experts in the field of education and child psychology, is mandatory for new volunteer teachers.
  • You will be interviewed by senior volunteers and based on the level of your commitment and competency you will be given a rigorous course in teaching the subject of their interest.
  • A classroom sponsor then introduces you to the school and its requirements, their curriculum etc.
  • As the actual teaching commences, you become a  part of the teacher network and is able to participate in discussions regarding teaching strategies and materials etc., and will receive weekly bulletins about their subject of interest.
  • You are also encouraged to physically visit the school once a month or more if possible.
